Westlake Girls is the top Girls Sailing School in Australasia after finishing top of the leaderboard in the Girls Division of the 2023 Interdominion Regatta in Sydney. Westlake Sailing is expanding after a stellar season on the water last year. Team management is ready to kick start 2024 with an 3-Day Induction Session from 23-25 January at the Milford Cruising Club to not only introduce new members to the programme but to prepare everyone for another busy season. As the New Zealand Secondary Schools Team Racing Champions, the team will travel to New Plymouth for the Championship in April and will be trialling to find the 8 top sailors to defend the title.
23-25 January – Induction Day – Milford Cruising Club
8 March – Auckland Secondary School Fleet Racing Regatta (Wakatere Boating Club) – Students sail their own boats.
15 -17 March – Harken National Secondary School Keelboat Championship (RNZYS) – 5 sailors selected.
18 – 20 March – Auckland Secondary School Team Sailing Championship (RAYC) – 8 sailors selected
21-26 April – NZ Secondary School Team Sailing National Championship (New Plymouth YC)
Training dates – 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th February and 4th, 11th, 18 March.
Trials will be held during training and all sailors will be notified about the process.
